Cannabis Therapeutics is a holistic lifestyle system that can provide relief and freedom from chronic stress health issues.  By using plant therapy combined with fitness, nutrition, and stress management, women are elevating their happiness naturally while putting their health back into their own hands. Cannabis Therapeutics works by addressing the Endocannabinoid system (ECS), one of the most important physiological systems involved in maintaining health.

The Endocannabinoid System

Our body produces its own chemical compounds (endocannabinoids) that mimic the chemical compounds found in Cannabis (phytocannabinoids or cannabinoids for short).  We also have a receptor system that works like a “lock and key.”

These endocannabinoids and their receptors are found throughout the body: in the brain, organs, connective tissues, glands, and immune cells.  With it’s complex actions in our immune system, nervous system, and virtually all of the body’s organs, the endocannabinoids are literally a bridge between body and mind.²⁹

Cannabinoids like Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) is one of at least 113 cannabinoids found in Cannabis and provides the psychoactive effect. THC also mimics the body’s own naturally occurring Endocannabinoids, Anandamide (“The Bliss Molecule”) which enhances the feeling of euphoria. CBD is another cannabinoid that is non-psychoactive.  CBD mimics the endocannabinoid 2-AG which is involved in the regulation of the immune system and pain management.³¹

The ECS works as a neuromodulator, sustaining balance in the body (also known as homeostasis). For example, when we cut ourselves, the body naturally starts to repair that wound. There’s a natural movement toward restoration and balance.

Chronic stress impairs both the nervous system and ECS which can lead to chronic health problems like mental illness (anxiety/depression/ADHD), autoimmune disease, digestive and metabolic disorders, pain, and insomnia. Cannabinoids act as neuromodulators for a variety of processes including motor learning, appetite, and pain sensation, among other cognitive and physical processes. Other examples of neuromodulators include Dopamine and Serotonin.

Cannabis Therapeutics restores the body’s natural ability to heal and perform optimally.  Through a holistic program, we utilize meditation, nutrition, and fitness to reduce stress and enhance wellbeing. We complement this work with plant medicine, like Cannabis, which provides natural relief and therapeutic support.

Endocannabinoid Deficiency

The body is in a constant quest for balance — or in Biological terms, “homeostasis.” Homeostasis depends on your body maintaining a stable internal environment. The endocannabinoid system is very easy to throw out of balance. Causes of imbalance include emotional stress, poor diet, recreational and pharmaceutical drugs, disease, and genetics.  Here are common symptoms that may be related to an endocannabinoid deficiency.

  • Stubborn Fat
  • Chronic Pain
  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Digestive Disorders
  • Substance Abuse
  • Autoimmune
  • Migraines
  • Insomnia
